Amy J. Ramirez is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and dynamic educational leader with over a decade of experience serving diverse student populations in urban school districts and clinical mental health experience. She currently serves as the District School Social Work Coach for Hartford Public Schools, where she provides strategic leadership, coaching, and professional development to over 100 School Social Workers across 40+ schools in Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, she has spearheaded numerous systemic reforms in mental health support and special education processes.

Amy’s background bridges clinical practice and educational leadership. She is a bilingual clinician and clinical supervisor at Hartford Psychological Services, LLC, offering trauma-informed therapy and supervising emerging clinicians. Amy is the owner of Transformative Therapy and Wellness Services, LLC, which provides therapeutic services in Connecticut. Amy also serves as a certified CPI Instructor, helping educators cultivate positive school climates through de-escalation and crisis prevention strategies.

A committed change agent, Amy has held numerous leadership positions, including as a Principal Fellow in the Hartford Principal Leadership Academy and as a Lead Site Coordinator for City Connects in schools. Her expertise in social-emotional learning, school climate, and equity-focused interventions has positioned her as a trusted voice in district-wide planning and policy development.

Amy holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Theater & Dance from Trinity College. Recognized as a 2024 Hartford Principal Leadership Academy Fellow and a 100 Women of Color honoree in 2024, Amy brings vision, compassion, and innovation to every space she leads.

Amy is proud of her Latina heritage, being of Puerto Rican and Dominican descent.

Amy resides in the New Haven county area with her husband and daughter.
